February 22nd - Rearrange - Myrrhmade Love Where You Are Challenge Day 22!

February 22nd - Welcome to day 22 of the Myrrhmade Love Where You Are Challenge!

Come on in and join us!

Day 22: Rearrange

Similar to trying a new recipe, another way to shift things around to see if you can make it easier to love where you are is to rearrange.

Whether your go all out with graph paper and scale pieces to see what would fit where or simply move some things around, you have more options for your spaces than you might think!

Putting what you have in different places helps to give you a fresh perspective.

Overtime even things that filled us with joy when we pay attention to them start to fade into the background. Moving things into new places causes us to pay attention to them in a new way and can bring what we already have alive for us again.

Daily Challenge: Rearrange!

Whether it's swapping some art, trying a new furniture arrangement, or shifting some things around on your desk, try a new arrangement!

If you don't like it, you can always put it right back. You might find a way you like even better than how you'd had something for years.

My dad has been living in the same house since I was a kid. While he likes many things to stay the same, he regularly rearranges the furniture into new configurations or new spins on combinations that he hasn't done in a while.

Daily Mindset Mantra:  Old things used in new ways bring fresh perspectives.

Much of the best food in the world is made from only a handful of ingredients. Within a region's cuisine, most of the dishes will be different combinations of the same handful.

If you think of your belongings as your flavor profile, how can you try a new arrangement? Even if you try something new and decide you like your older arrangement better, you can be more certain and experience more enjoyment knowing you really do like it better.

Bonus task: Brush your teeth with your non-dominant hand.

It's more challenging than you think!

Children are natural experimenters and take delight in these kinds of challenges. How can you shake up your habits and routines to bring a fresh perspective?

My experience:

My day started with finding another raccoon victim in the hen house. Yesterday's fortifications had apparently been insufficient. I'd already done a little rearranging of my day to venture out into the world for some farm supplies we can't get easily get near home, particularly on a Sunday. With this second attack, the rest of my plans got rearranged as well.

Using some scrap wood and a fair amount of leftover hardware found rearranging in the garage, I fortified our coop.

Using what we already have in a new way to meet new challenges.

Not the rearranging I'd intended, but I rearranged my rearranging plans to meet the needs of the day.

How about you? Do you like to rearrange your life?

Make sure to check back here tomorrow for the next challenge, the next tips, and the next dose of the Myrrhmade  Love Where You Are Challenge.
