Merry Midwinter, Joyeaux Nöel, Feliz Navidad, God Jul, and more.

-
Instead of waiting until the end of the month, I'm here now to wish you a Merry Midwinter!

No, not the middle of the winter. Mid year at the Winter, the darkest day of the year.

So, to cheer you up a little, I present you with two marvelous ladies, being marvelous.

September Recap

-
School is in full swing and the special events, school papers, and calendar pages seem to be fluttering by.

Here are some things that really stood out in September.

SOMEbody turned four and we had a hopping good time at her Frog party. There was even a purple frog with pink polka dots cake, lily pad cheeses and salami slices, origami frogs that really jump.

The girls are getting good enough at biking (A is still trucking along on her balance bike) that I might have to find myself a bike just to keep up!

My first art assignment this semester was a self portrait (it was a quick assignment over the first 1.5 weeks.)

We celebrated HandsomeJoe and my 10th anniversary with a few day trip down to Mystic Seaport and the Mystic Aquarium. We haven't been (and we go as a family) in several years and it's a special place to us as the time we visited prior to that was the day before darling A was born.

The highlight of the trip for the girls was repeated visits from Juno the beluga whale, the boat tour of Mystic Seaport, and getting to go down below deck on the big boats.

The highlights of the trip for me was getting to be by the shore, the boats that remind me of summers with my grandparents, a vacation with my darling husband and my two favorite girls.

Top THAT, October! :)

Yes, Daddy can have a Princess Cake this year too.

It was so much fun and so delicious, he wanted one again this year. My guess is that we have the beginning of a tradition on our hands.

On Being the Snaileyest Snail

-

We have a game called Snail's Pace Race that I remember loving as a child.

It's a simple dice rolling game where players advance whatever color of snail they roll. Players "win" by guessing which will snail will cross first and last. When we play we cheer all the snails on and whichever snail crosses the finish line last gets to be the Snaileyest Snail.

Things That Are Bringing Me Great Joy.

-

I started this blog as a way to help me focus on all the blessings, abundance, and happy thoughts in my life. I had been married less than a year and was soon to ship my husband off on an overseas deployment.

Once again, I'm back to focus on the good things, and to look for the light.

Thirty-Six for Thirty-Six

-
I survived the semester and finals. We survived several work trips and we're gearing up for a few more. But first, my birthday.

Not me, not my birthday, but definitely a happy thought.

WIP Wednesday, April 4th, 2018 - 180degree Panoramic

-

Creating is my passion, my sanity, my sense of being "up to something", my way of contributing a little bit. I always have a few projects going, many left to the side for months or even years before I pick up the best and carry on. Here's some of what I'm working on this week:

A lovely friend (with her family) from ages hence may park with us for a handful of weeks this summer.

WIP Wednesday - Cubbies and Challenge Updates 1.10.2018

-

Creating is my passion, my sanity, my sense of being "up to something", my way of contributing a little bit. I always have a few projects going, many left to the side for months or even years before I pick up the best and carry on. Here's some of what I'm working on this week:

We removed some paneling, spackled , caulked, sanded, primed, painted, and prepped the corner. We built the cubby shelves, and maybe played in them a lot.

Then we got a storm that delayed the delivery of our new dryer by a couple of weeks.

We're Back! January, 2018 Monthly Challenge

-

Happy New Year!

On a walk behind my mum's house.

Brrr! It's been super cold (0*f at dawn this morning) here and we managed the holidays tolerably well.

We're now excited to get back into the swing of things, jump back into doing Monthly Challenges, and share some exciting news:
