Candles - WIP Wednesday January 27th, 2016

-

Creating is my passion, my sanity, my sense of being "up to something", my way of contributing a little bit. I always have a few projects going, many left to the side for months or even years before I pick up the best and carry on. Here's some of what I'm working on this week:

Candles!

Every so often, I'm able to return an unwanted present and exchange it for something I really really want. In this case, I was able to get four pounds of beeswax. (I'm rich!!) And so, even with my husband gone for the weekend at Army, I got to work making candles.

With the sudden abundance of candles, I sorted all miscellany out and designated a candle (and candle-making) drawer.

In the weeks leading up to our annual Sing For Your Supper party, I usually do a couple candle making sessions. I dare say, I'm well prepared, well in advance this time. :)

Yes, those are floating walnut boat candles, and yes, I'll do a tutorial soon!

What I really want to round out my candle making is taper molds that work for beeswax - any leads anyone?

The molds I've found all specifically say they don't work with beeswax. Any insight anyone? I'm not willing to use rubber molds or silicone release spray, although have used olive oil in other molds.

What are you working on? What are you excited about attempting? What are you proud to be working on? Take a picture or two and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link in the comments.
