Ice Crystals, Sewing, Clearing Out the Freezer - WIP Wednesday, February 17th, 2016

-

Creating is my passion, my sanity, my sense of being "up to something", my way of contributing a little bit. I always have a few projects going, many left to the side for months or even years before I pick up the best and carry on. Here's some of what I'm working on this week:

With looming zub-zero temperatures we drained the not-yet-working hot tub. An amazing collection of ice forms had started building on the surface of the water. One by one we pulled some out and stood them up in the snow on the railing.

It was an unexpected and magical evening. The girls were just as enthralled as we were and happily spent an hour in the dark getting extra rosy cheeks to be with us as we marveled at this spectacular surprise.

I got to spend some time at my sewing machine altering some curtains from my first apartment to fit our bathroom window.

One by one, each project or task we do, makes this place more and more our own.

We unpacked a few more boxes and came across a couple more packages of cotton clothesline
left from the last time I sewed rope baskets, almost a year ago.

I got most of the way through one bobbin of thread but it's waiting for me.

We are making stock and clearing out space in our freezer because we are going to start up our meat and eggs CSA from Edgefield Farm again. We stopped last spring because of our big move. We are now starting to feel a little more settled in and ready to bring back many of the things we put on hold.

What are you working on? What are you excited about attempting? What are you proud to be working on? Take a picture or two and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link in the comments.
