Even though we still have snow, the first "official" day of spring is always so welcome. We have been reading "The Root Children" throughout the winter and excited that it's finally time.
My Fairy-Godmother sends out spring postcards every year with a different spring poem. They always arrive at least a few days before the first day of spring. These little signs that the seasons really are going to shift bring me hope and excitement about the warm weather to come.
Because the ground is hard frozen, and all our plants and bulbs lay waiting below, we have to content ourselves with little bits of green coming up indoors. We are collecting light colored bantam eggs from a favored chicken to decorate, dreaming about gardens and dirt, and are itching to be outside.
Wishing you and yours a happy first day of spring!
