More painted stones

We've been busy sending HandsomeJoe off and welcoming him back (and then repeating it a few more times) as well as gardening, weeding, designing, building, and generally living high on summer.

Cooking On The Grill - Keep the heat outside!

Stir-fried vegetables, scrambled eggs, and reheating roast goose

I don't know about you but when it's over 75f degrees in the house I don't want to turn on the oven or the stove-top to cook anything.

Deep In Thought (and buried in homework)

I'm almost halfway through my first semester at Smith College (eee!) and I'm enjoying it more than I ever thought I would. Having an illustrious background of four different community colleges over twenty years, my previous college experience was fair at best, more often meh.

It hasn't quite sunk in yet that I'm really here, does the imposter syndrome wear off before graduation? We choose our classes for next semester at the beginning of April and I'm really excited!

What are you up to these days?

Introduction Jalapeño - A little fun with stop motion

With the furlough, we've got a bit more time for creative projects around these parts. HandsomeJoe is pouring his time into side projects

One day he and the girls made props, backdrops, collected bits and bobs and made a stop motion video out of one of the stories he's invented about a little dragon named Jalapeño.

Furlough Foodie Fun

So, there's a lot of reasons to be angry about the government shutdown, but I'm not going to get into them. What I am going to get into is gushing a bit about some of the marvelous things we've been making from scratch.
