I love you more than chocolate biscuits.

On my way north for Thanksgiving, I stopped at a red light in Hadley behind this truck. And a photo was too good to pass up.

While Lu is by no means my favorite brand, I do love me a good chocolate biscuit. So, it's no small thing when I say I love you more.

Speaking of Scallops... - Grapefruit and scallops

So, I've made scallops with a sweet grapefruit marmalade sauce a few times because I happened to have some grapefruit marmalade that didn't quite work for anything else.

Last night I made scallops with fresh pink-grapefruit and boy oh boy! AMAZING.

Hooray for Corner Shelves

A week or so ago when I was at the hardware store I bought myself some corner shelves to put above my bed in my studio.

Yesterday, I finally put them up! :D It's so lovely to have a place to put my bedside things instead of keeping them on the radiator or balancing them on the upended drawer on the floor. :) The light is really lovely at night as well. :)

Felted holiday ball ornaments

Today I made my grandmother's christmas present. Don't worry, she won't read this :)

I'm kind of excited about them. I made the red felted balls a month or so ago by rolling feltable yarn into balls, tying them up in nylon stockings and sending them through the washer and dryer.

The details I felted on using my newly acquired felting needles. For the life of me, I can't find the ones I already had. :)

mmm silk... scarf fabric from Habermans

On my latest adventure to my favorite fabric store in the world, Habermans, (why oh why do you have to be over 600 miles away!) I bought myself a few pieces of silk.

After a few hours of hand stitching, I now have three new scarves.

Deliciously soft fabrics in beautiful colors makes me a very happy bunny. :)

I also got a couple pieces of 100%wool but you'll have to wait to see what I make out of those.

I've been featured...

Me? An artist? Oh, ok. I guess I'll give you that one. :)

My dear friend Jim has a lovely blog and I'm the latest feature artist!: Land of Slack

Thanks Jim!

So be sure to check it out. He's got a great collection of fantastic artist and some of their work.

And, inspired by that honor, I've added a couple quick things to my own website: www.myrrhmade.com

thankful for the ladies

I am so thankful for the Women's Tub Day at East Heaven. ($10 for as long as you like!)

Two of the same other ladies were there as the last time we went and I have to say there is something incredibly soothing about communal bathing with a group of wonderful women.

After was a low-key couple of hours with Joanna (all to myself!) and then joining in with others to help her celebrate her birthday. I didn't stay too long so that I could be sure to stay awake for my drive home but it was lovely to see some of the wonderful people she has collected around her.

They all plinked! - ginger-pearsauce

My first attempt at solo-canning was victorious!

I now am the proud owner of ten jars of ginger-pearsauce - applesauce only made with pears + a ginger kick for intrigue.

I got to hear ten, very satisfying "plink"s as the jars cooled. A sure sound of success. :)

Ben is HERE!!!!

My Dear Cousin Ben called a couple of weeks ago. After chatting for a minute I discovered that not only had he accepted a job and was moving to the area, but was moving to the very next town over.

He arrived last night, unpacked a bit into the bedroom upstairs and is off at his first day at his new job.

I am so excited to have him here. :)
