Things That Are Saving My Life Right Now

-

"Most of us know what’s killing us, and can articulate it, if asked. But few of us pay attention to what’s giving us life. "

Here are the Things That Are Saving My Life Right Now:

1.) Snow

I can handle the cold winter as long as there's snow. The crisp, clean beautiful, sparkling view from our windows and the serene motion of the flakes falling downward sooth my soul and add restoration to these cold dark days.

2.) Nap time

Even though C no longer naps, dear A has been napping well. This time to spend a few minutes working projects and be able to pay my full attention to anything is much needed.

3.) Progress on making our house our own

The light color on the ceiling makes the whole space seem larger, and we figured out how to securely put up our beloved wooden kitchen shelves.

The kitchen has lots of great big but hard to use cupboards - they're deep and have one half shelf making our things hard to get and hard to put away.

4.) Flowers

Bulbs budding and blossoming indoors in the winter has long been a staple of my sanity in the winter. My husband is allergic to hyacinths, so I was delighted to shift a treasured childhood tradition to less allergenic blooms. Sunshine streaming through life exploding out of the buds makes my heart sing.

5.) Delicious, healthy, and easy to make/heat foods

Grassfed gelatin salad (with carrots and pineapple), pre-made hortopita (my girls inhale this!), pot pie from Cook Farm in Hadley, and plenty of popcorn have taken some of the stress out of our meals at present. We are slowly trying to phase out snacks to help a certain girl eat balanced meals at mealtime. Snacks are great to get you through, but living on snacks makes for a cranky girl.

What's saving your life right now?

  1. It's funny to see a picture of C eating on the couch. Yesterday, I told her that we couldn't have food on the couch. That would explain the weird look she gave me.

You and your girls give me life. Thank you. Thank you!

    1. Yeah... she's not supposed to have gelatin salad on the couch. She was bringing it over to serve me. It was too loving not to take a picture. We try to keep couch eating to dry snacks. :)

      and I'm so glad!
