Odds and Ends - WIP Wednesday, January 11th, 2017

-

Creating is my passion, my sanity, my sense of being "up to something", my way of contributing a little bit. I always have a few projects going, many left to the side for months or even years before I pick up the best and carry on. Here's some of what I'm working on this week:

Making tasty snacks from ingredients at the back of the cupboards - Apricot Coconut Macaroons - dried coconut, eggs, honey, chopped apricots.

I started another batch of fermented goodness to help test out the EcoJarz Fermenter Kit. This time I'm fermenting red onion slices. I'm looking forward to having them on burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, chopped in egg or tuna salad, mixed into dressings and more!

Making peace with the already broken nature of things. (No elephant teacozys were harmed in the making of this post.)

Filling in the background of a piece of cross stitch I started many years ago.

I'll slowly work on finishing this and a few other unfinished pieces I started years ago. It's lovely to have something fairly mindless to work on while clearing my mind.

Some people watch tv, some people do sudoku, some people mindlessly browse. I find minute and repetitive crafting to soothe what ails me.

Planting flowers.

I came across a cartoon last week, I can't for the life of me seem to find it again.

There were two people outside, one was gardening. The standing person asked the other what they thought 2017 would bring.

"Flowers"

"Why do you think it will bring flowers?"

"Because I'm planting flowers.

Let's plant seeds. Let's plant flowers. Let's make the world a better place this year because we are doing the work today.

The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago.
The second best time is now. - Chinese proverb

What are you working on? What are you excited about attempting? What are you proud to be working on? Take a picture or two and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link or a few words in the comments.
