Getting Ready for Advent and Kraut and More! - WIP Wednesday, November 30th, 2016

Creating is my passion, my sanity, my sense of being "up to something", my way of contributing a little bit. I always have a few projects going, many left to the side for months or even years before I pick up the best and carry on. Here's some of what I'm working on this week:

A year ago I posted about our lovely pocket Advent Calendar. This year it's getting some updates! I wrote out some mini gift tags with the dates which I'll attach to each pocket.

Last year our calendar centered around little treats, mostly chocolate.

In the interest of our health and well being we will save the treats for family gatherings and special traditions (like homemade non-dairy egg-nog while we decorate our tree) and focus on activities and books with a few little treasures thrown in.

This year we are going to do candles on the table with the poem cards shown in the first photo above. Here are some painted backing watercolor papers and girls making art.

We're also playing with our food. Because what else do you do when you find a double potato?

Catching up on laundry.

Finally getting started with testing out the Fermenter Kit from EcoJarz
(review of the small-mouth PopTop lid here. Huge thanks to everyone who took a look and those who participated in the giveaway! Winner announced next week.)

And finally, getting started on a little friend for a friend's commission through my etsy shop.

There's still time to order one for one of your own loved ones in time for the holidays!

What are you working on? What are you excited about attempting? What are you proud to be working on? Take a picture or two and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link in the comments.

  1. Your children have both gone through failry moist and sticky stages. Good to see they are moving on to dryer times!
