Moving Upstairs - WIP Wednesday August 3rd, 2016

-

Creating is my passion, my sanity, my sense of being "up to something", my way of contributing a little bit. I always have a few projects going, many left to the side for months or even years before I pick up the best and carry on. Here's some of what I'm working on this week:

Amidst the drastic shifts in weather, drought to days of rain, overwhelming heat to slippers and sweaters, uck/sickness and final passages, we squeezed in enough time to finish painting and move upstairs. This allows little A to have her own (little) big girl bed.

We ran out of paint before finishing the trim (will be dark like the ceiling beams) but moved upstairs anyway.

The downstairs bedroom will be ripped apart and put back together with *gasp* working outlets, windows that actually open and let air through, no ugly drop-ceilings with enough space for mice but not traps or the cat,  and perhaps a new location for the exterior door to the back porch.

And then Joe and I will move back down leaving the girls in their very own bedroom upstairs.

For now we're getting used to the new sounds (we couldn't hear the crickets and frogs so very well downstairs), new sleeping arrangements (after four years of sharing the bed with little ones, the big bed seems so very big) and new smells.

We sleep a little more soundly every night and before long it will only be hazy memories of sleeping anywhere else.

What are you working on? What are you excited about attempting? What are you proud to be working on? Take a picture or two and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link in the comments.
